Shy and calm Abe is the new friend of the boys at the start of the series. He's a first-year law student living in an eight-person group house (just like everyone's first house!). Being in a tight-knit group of guy friends is totally new to him, but he wants to learn what "dudeship" is all about. His supportive girlfriend Vikki is there for him every step of the way, even if she lives an hour away.

Aggressive and witty War moved to DC to take hold of its blossoming media industry. A journalism and film major, he wants to become a prolific TV critic. His stories at the weekly Trivia Night with the guys often contain his outspoken opinions about the different kinds of people living in the District. Whether he's lounging around in one of his goofy t-shirts or primed for a movie premiere, War is ready to sarcastically take on the city.

Quirky and fun Murphy moved to DC in the hopes of landing a sweet job in politics, but he soon realized that competition was everywhere. He isn't going to let unemployment keep him down, as he travels from part-time job to part-time job to make ends meet. This former "punk Jewish kid" is going to give back to his community, even if he has to wait for his chance.

Uptight and competitive Randy joined a swanky non-profit program for teachers only for prestige, not realizing all the work being a teacher entailed. Living with Murphy and Slate reminds him to have fun, but only after he lesson plans for the next day. While Randy decides what career he wants to pursue, he's going to avoid the teachers and come to Trivia Night with the other guys.

Friendly and enthusiastic Slate plans to change the world through the magic of the non-profit organization. He is not ready for the surprisingly cut-throat world that do-gooders have to handle, but has come a long way since his meek high school days with Randy and Murphy. The "slighty-younger" brother in set of twins, Slate wants DC to mature him into his own person. However, his brow-beating long-distance girlfriend is going to keep him on a short lease.

Abe is lucky to have supportive Vikki in his life, even if she lives an hour away (in Virginia!). Coming from a family of five brothers, Vikki knows all there is to know about making guy friends. When she's not helping her boyfriend, she attends law school even though her cool attitude doesn't exactly fit the law student mold.

Sassy Maya created the addictive Trivia Night at the boys' favorite local pub. As some of her first players, she quickly grew fond of them, often offering her female perspective on their male lives. Helping Trivia Night succeed is only her part-time job; her real passion is her graduate degree in Urban Studies.
