Ishu Krishna
Director, Writer, Co-Executive Producer
Ishu Krishna is ecstatic to be the Director and Co-Executive Producer of Young Adult. She is an MFA candidate for Film and Electronic Media at American University in Washington, DC. She produces, writes, and directs short films, TV pilots, and music videos. Her work has been screened at AFI, Art O Matic, and Film Salon. She also does freelance cinematography and editing. Ishu currently teaches video production classes Arlington Adult Education Center and is a Teacher's Assistant for several filmmaking classes at American University.
J.W. Crump
Creator, Writer, Co-Executive Producer
This is J. W. Crump's first foray into TV pilot production. His first writing experience was as a senior in high school where he placed second in the regional Young Playwrights competition. After that, he trained and studied at Wake Forest University where his roles included Norman Bates from Psycho, Jim the Peeing College Student in Tinkle Time, and Actor in Tales of the Lost Formicans. While in the District, J. W. has studied improvisational acting at both the DC Improv and Washington Improv Theater. In film, he has starred in several short films and two television pilots. He can't wait to watch his baby project become a Young Adult.
Ian Rushing
Director of Photography
Ian Rushing can't wait to add his creative eye to Young Adult as the Director of Photography. Ian has been carrying around a video camera for the past 10 years, everywhere from the Arctic Circle to Capitol Hill, and a few dark allies in between. He got his start in the news, which gave him a chance to add his unique perspective to stories. Recently, he worked on a few more exciting gigs, including a spec TV pilot episode for The Gym and a photo shoot for Maxim. It was a tough job, but somebody had to do it...
Gene Ertel
2nd Director of Photography
Gene is excited to be on the Young Adult team as 2nd Director of Photography. He previously worked on Song of the Dead and Academy of Doom, both released nationally by Monogram releasing. In addition to horror features, Gene has worked in TV spot advertising, documentaries, and experimental film. His work has been screened at the SXSW Film Festival, the Chicago Underground Film Festival, the Cine Fantastico Y De Terror, the Rojo Sangre, the Manhattan Film Society, and other festivals and media events around the world.
Lisa Denny
Associate Producer
Lisa Denny is thrilled to be joining the team of "Young Adult" as Associate Producer. She has worked on several short films as script supervisor and was an Associate Producer and Assistant Director for the TV pilot "The Gym." Lisa currently works as a production manager at Nine Yards Media, a small production company in Alexandria, VA.
Rich Volin
Editor
As an avid sitcom viewer and former young adult himself, Rich Volin is delighted to join the team as Editor. Rich is an independent filmmaker and editor who has cut pieces for the federal government and small businesses in the DC metro area. He currently teaches filmmaking at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University (Georgetown campus), where he graduated the Digital Filmmaking Program. Rich also works as an attorney in Washington, DC
Dan Ostroff
Sound Mixer/Sound Designer
Dan Ostroff couldn't pass up the opportunity to do field sound on Young Adult after working with Ishu and J. W. previously. He started his career in sound as a DJ, continuing on more formally with studies in recording engineering, audio production techniques and becoming certified in Pro Tools before deciding to expand his horizons into television & film sound. He credits much of his success to his supportive wife, Andrea, and their two children, Owen and Anya.
Sweta Mehta
First Assistant Director
Sweta Mehta is thrilled to work with the production unit of the "Young Adult". She started her career by doing event videography and observing the world of production overseas in Bollywood. After returning to the U.S, Sweta started pursuing films by attending the American University. She has directed several documentaries, music videos, and assisted on a television pilot as Production and Sound Assistant. She is looking forward to the challenge of fulfilling the role as an Assistant Director for the Young Adult.
